Max’s light show

Just a couple of sparklers, but Max certainly outshines them.

Happy Father’s Day

Max made pizza for us tonight. It was awesome both in how it looked and how it tasted.

Peregrine Falcons up close and personal

I had a meeting this morning on the 16th floor of the Jackson County tower building. What made it really great is that their IT head also has keys to the 18th floor, the level where our local Peregrine Falcons have their scrape. One of the fledglings was standing on the ledge, just a few feet out from the window.

At this point he was a bit wary of me pointing a camera at him

Opened the window to get a better look. Pretty amazing to have nothing but a couple feet of air between myself and such an amazing bird.

I didn't see momma coming in to protect her baby, she was just suddenly there, seemingly out of thin air. She seemed every bit ready to tear me to shreds - and this is after we closed the window.

Bye Bye Mackinac Island

On the ferry and off to Mackinac City.

The fort on the island

We climbed up to the fort on the island just to make sure we were tired out. At least it’s mainly an incline instead of steps. And a Max would note, it’s not as bad as climbing the “M”.

Lunch at the Grand Hotel

Definitely a nice break from all of the walking. Lots of good stuff on the buffet – Peel and eat shrimp, oysters on the half shell, cantaloupe with Jello used to make then a full, pointed wedge and tons of desserts.

Scavenger hunt

A walked somewhere round 6 miles according to the pedometer, however accurate that is.

Other then photos for the scavenger hunt itself, just took one picture of Max. He was pretty tired, but being the trooper he is, he kept going.

Then there is the simple lone “K” marker in one of the

cemeteries.

After diner

Pizza for diner, then out to wander around a bit downtown. Bought a little fudge, browsed a few stored and got a little ice cream. And went a little way out on the dock.

Our carriages await.

Max volunteers for the British Army

Max volunteered to join the British Army. At least they didn’t let him fire a musket.
